Though I haven't logged on in maybe a year or so, I still keep tabs on this game because it's vastly different from everything else I've encountered.
To you, the playerbase, I admit on many occasions I've shouted at my screen, asking Nexon to fix the game and stop pasting patches in, and this and that, and I've also grown upset with them because of the tech maplestory2 issues. But then you come to understand that this is only natural for a game of this size.
To the maplestory2 staff, thanks for always being patient with us, even when we act like the most immature and irrespectable little brats that we can be.
Even all that coming aside, the game's art style is unlike anything else I've ever seen, the classes, while some are cliche or nothing new, have actually broken ground in some areas. The music is grand, and without it, the whole game would be one unending grindfest. The story, while full of plotholes has still come a long way from it's origins. The game at its core is very different from everything else out there, and has a special place in my heart, even if I don't play much anymore. I've spent a lot of time playing other MMORPGs and all of their cookie-cutter mechanics, and it got really dry, really fast. maplestory didn't for the most part, it kept me playing and entertained for a good long five years. And if I tried to leave? There was always something to bring me back. If I come back again, it'll be for Star Planet, and if I don't I'll be here for maplestory2 :P
The reason I've loved this game so much, even when I was never really good at it was because it was different, new, and fun. It gave me something to think about and enjoy when things in life were too heavy for me to think about. Even the people that left this community continued it and made their own, simply because the game was really that good.
So I thank you, Wizet and Nexon, for making a game that touched my heart and gave me something grand to be a part of. Have the greatest Anniversary an MMORPG has ever known, for the sake of those that love it. This, from all of us.
