Random questions from a returning maplestory player

I'm pretty sure most npcs sold all cure potions and I remember an npc in the crafting town that sold some of the lowest level flowers/seeds and fatigue lowering potions. What happened to these? My first run of zakum cost over like 50 all cures and I still lost because I ran out (He was on the last stage and low hp too...).

Also, Spell traces and "star power" are new to me. When I found out about them around lv70ish, I maxed lv80 gear. Later to find out this was a mistake, of course. I got to 120 pretty quickly from there and found the 120-130 gear needed way more. Aside from farming monsters, there must be another way people are getting spell traces. I found out about extracting them from scrolls and thus started my alch stuff but as lv10 is kind of far for now, can anyone tell me how many spell traces one actually gets from a scroll? Is that even how most people get the majority of theirs?

R&J is insanely good but does anyone actually do any other PQ for 120+? I haven't seen anyone asking to join elsewhere.

Does everyone on that party match making thing (when you go to boss place like hilla) just leave you? q_q

She was too annoying solo. At least, as 120.

I haven't really played in possibly a few years. Just started again 2-3 days ago. All of the new stuff was a bit crazy on my old characters so I created a new one.

All-Cures were never easy to get.

The most reliable way is to do Alcaster's long and tedious quest line, so you can buy them from him.

There is also an NPC in Masteria who sells them, after a less tedious quest, but he only sells one at a time so you have to keep going through the same dialog over and over if you want a bunch.

Elite mobs usually drop a few, but it's hardly a quantity that will last you.

Sometimes people sell them in FM.

Spell Traces are mostly gotten from monsters and from quests (like sudden missions) and events (attendances, event boxes, etc). Level 11 Alchemy, needed to extract scrolls, is not easy to attain or to keep (it deteriorates back to level 10 if you don't craft something every day).

And there are always Spell Traces being sold in FM. Although unfortunately most of the sellers use "bots" to farm the Spell Traces from monsters, which is against the rules and not something you should be supporting with your meso.

Nobody uses any other PQ.

Other than straight grinding, in levels 100-140 you can do Monster Park Extreme. It's very good experience, and also drops a lot of gear that you can either use or NPC for meso. It drops special "Purple Senior" set, which is level 60 but always Epic on reveal, making it easy to acquire some 4-6% hat, overall, gloves, and shoes, if you don't already have something better.

At level 140 you can start Dimension Invasion PQ. Some people solo it, some go in parties. It's very good experience, and drops level 140 Pensalir/Utgard gear.

Yeah, pretty much. Most people use boss matchmaking just to get the free tele to the boss. They prefer to solo the boss if they can, because it's better experience and guarantees they can have all the loot.

I recommend joining a guild and/or finding a regular bossing buddy, because relying on randoms is very frustrating.
