Your thoughts about current damage cap system and class balance at cap level.
Currently, most classes have the same damage cap being this 50M, it sure doesnt help the pay2win issue like everybody else knows. But at same time, before first people hit the cap, class balance seemed ok but now with the time, or even before today, people make their class choices according to many criterias. Mainly number of hits per second, the difficulty to control them, advantages which other classes don't have, etc. But a big part of this community decides to choose numbers of hits per seconds or classes being at very top of DPS chart (NW as example, NL is also good but not as much) and more.
There are many people saying this current damage system and this unlimit power from funding create unbalance and it is unfair. I say unbalance here but it is not totally true. It looks more like game broken mainly because of this potential system which can give you so much power once hitting cap damage, certain classes are the best at cap level. Even if it's only a small minority and they post their videos of boss soloing, it brings jelly to some people, especially those who are too addicted to damage. So much that a majority of players, i mainly talk about average funded players or above, completely forget the RPG aspect of the game.
These facts force people to think the game is pay2win without realizing they could just party with other players. But We have to agree it takes a minimum damage, which is fine because of achievments you have done so far. But maybe the minimum damage requiered is too high so only funded can meet requierment but there was a so small minority that they eventually solo. Or if minimum damage is fine but the timer if too high, it makes bosses too easy to solo at certain points. And don't forget after years of existence of MapleStory, it is way too easy to gain damage with all these features which is cool. But there are a few stuffs which don't help either and is an issue for FM economy as example, in my opinion. The fact it exists instance drop. This instanced drop system pratically kills Free Market economy, because in my opinion end-game boss equipment prices should not be this cheap especially weapons.
Some people can say classes are unbalanced because of fast hitter classes and we can take Dojo as example. I think Dojo is the best example I can use here. And also the videos of people soloing chaos vellum. You can see it is unfair right? Why most classes can't hit ''around'' same damage as a cappion fast hitter with same funds? I can easily blame this current cap damage system.
Talking about small minority of cappion players (on end game boss), most of these players actually break ToS to get there and for certain of them they have cap damage on more than 1 character! Too addicted to damage right? They risk everything to get there and yet, many of them are not banned or MAYBE a few temporary bans but still not perma-banned!! Maybe a few paying players get cap damage just by paying his own money for NX cash from cubing (which is a very small portion of players) and for certain of them, if they cap on other characters, they might buy more NX OR actually buy NX with meso. Seeing this, it also creates many illegal transactions, even if NX>meso transaction existed for longer, directly or in form of trades via leech or other. Now this game becomes so much pay2win NOT just because of Nexon, but also some players mentality. For this reason these transactions exist.
Just a reminder, there are also many types of non-paying players AND paying players.
-Non-paying players:*Players who are casual and take their time to make achievments and respect ToS.
*Players who are playing a lot with dedication, get skilled with the time and
slowly make achievments while still respecting ToS
*Players who are addicted to damage but not enough for not respecting ToS,
especially skilled in-game, can achieve stuffs faster and using every legal ways
in-game to get slowly funded but not as much as paying players and who dont
*And finally players who are just too addicted to damage and think they HAVE to solo
everything to win the game, many are ready to disrespect ToS and eventually commit
illegal transactions, by using NX, USD and PP currencies. Some of them have at
1 cappion character. Those who claim to achieve cap damage without spending
dime to deal cap on end-game boss. About USD and PP currencies, they only sell
for real money (this is a VERY small portion of players, enough i dont know
any of them, but they MAY exist) and happens to sell their own equips because
they want to leave game for good and are dishonnest to kinda steal money
from the company (i said kinda :P)
-Paying players: *Players who occasionnally buy NX cash with real money and playing closer to
non-paying players ways.
*Players who are casual, take their time to make achievments and respect ToS. Most
of the time, they pay for cosmetic.
*Players who are casual with a certain degree of dedication, respect ToS, paying a
lot for cosmetic and a little of cubing whenever they feel to cube. Or maybe Gach
*Players who are dedicated to make achievement faster and like damage but not
too addicted and still respect ToS will buy more of Gach and cubes and some
*Players who are more addicted to damage and who still respect ToS will buy lot
more cubes, occasionnal Gachapon and some cosmetic or almost none for certain,
this represents a VERY small number of players who cap damage.
* And finally, players who are so addicted to damage and sometimes feel like
Nexon scams them with cubes gramble and more reasons. It happens for them to
sometimes buy/sell NX from/to other paying players of same type and even
non-paying players of last type to get more mesos, buying godly equips with
real money mostly from quitting players of any type, then Paypal and even
buying meso from meso website if they see they can get more mesos by paying
less real money if they look at NX:meso rate in-game.
Of course, there are botters who are not really players, they use a game as job, which is completely BS and they are thieves, stealing real money x.x And also a little amount of players might use this game as job. They upgrade equipments in any way and eventually sell for real money (USD or paypal) and don't necessarely quit the game. Certain people would use this excuse''oh but I prefer donate to another player for hard work'' mainly because of Nexon scam feeling. Those who ''donate'' to other players don't realize they are stealing Nexon company directly. I personnally know 1 guy in-game who has this thought but because I could not take picture, I could not take screenshot and report him, especially if he mentionned the seller IGN. I had a long discussion with this guy to say these illegal transactions are REALLY bad, but he doesnt seem to care and he said to pay these players is ok, especially if they use the game AS job. I was like WOAHHH!!!! game doesnt equal job X.X Unbelievable how i can ramdomly meet many kinds of unhealthy people without knowing. Good thing I don't join well known guilds and even more, that i dont choose too many cappion players in buddy list. Since I can now take screenshot, I can now report certain of them who break ToS.
I play this game long enough to know this issue is real... especially because of the reasons this game is becoming pay2win and again, it is not just Nexon fault, but also an amount of unhealthy players. C'mon this is a game. And it is not hard to respect ToS. Well I know certain people can use the lack of time as excuse.
We can think of ways to reduce pay2win and promote RPG aspect, especially bring RPG aspect in players mentality. You know, we can ALL change the way we are playing the game and for GOOD!!! We can list some suggestions to reduce pay2win aspects in many ways.
It can be by adjusting damage cap to create more balance but also setting the minimum damage cap for fast hitters for a same amount of funding as many other classes. You can guys suggest what damage caps we should use. Or mainly the minimum cap damage for fast hitters AND max damage cap, used for very slow classes, very good 1v1 damage dealer and who are built as a PURE bossing character with a huge lack of advantage besides damage outputs.
Before joining Maple Leaf Council, I once suggested to adjust damage cap so fast hitters deal a cap of 50M while most classes will have a higher damage cap and this solution could give more money to Nexon because certain players could come back after seeing this kind of balance. But I also realize this is still pay2win because of this current potential system. So my suggestion is not good finally. I also saw a guy, I think it was AKradian, he suggested to give every classes a DPS cap which is the worst idea ever in my opinion, because certain ppl could just take a slow hitter and have so many support skills and are not meant to be bossing. This is WAY more broken and unbalanced at cap level.
So, adjusting damage cap damage to lower cap for certain fast hitters who are not necessarely bossing is needed. There are factors like % skills, number of hits, role-play and buffing advantages which can be either attack, defense, avoid, etc., to take in consideration to adjust damage cap. Of course, Nexon will do this job with test server by using same funding of all characters. Taking funds of a character who can deal cap the earliest (excluding Zero), test damage and then fixing damage cap. Then, balancing done!
Now about RPG aspect, the idea I just mentionned above is not enough to bring it back. So I thought we could nerf Dorothy hardcore and make a tower of Oz revamp. A revamp which is to modify Floor 50 and put Dorothy outside of this dungeon and should be in a separate room. A room which we can defeat her in party!! Or expedition. We can also nerf Dorothy and Hard Lotus hardcore. so they can match with my suggestion in previous paragraph. We can also reducing other end-game boss HP and/or reducing the timer and/or make them even more difficult to defeat.
And please get rid of % HP damage. Well about % HP damage system... this needs a rework. We have to make defense, accuracy and avoidability more usefull. I know there is a system similar for hard magnus. I notice by funding my Hero further and the number of times I attempt him, I realize the %HP damage he deals on me with rush or spin seems LOWER!! Probably because we have a very high total main stat or maybe defense. We should use a system which will work for ALL kinds of % HP damage except the 1hit KO and meteors of all bosses. % HP damage which should get lower by getting a lot of defense stat. Tanky classes will have ability to receive even less damage, with a cap of course XD And actually a chance for % HP dmg to do a MISS by getting a lot of avoidability stat, but of course I am thinking there should have a cap of chance to miss, so we won't make thieves too OP. While %chance miss to % HP damage on other classes should be halved and for certain classes, cap can be between thief and other classes in general, those who have certain avoidability skills.
And finally, I thought accuracy should give us a chance of dealing on 1 line of damage on monsters with cancel weapon atk and cancel magic attack. With cap accuracy there should have a 10% chance to deal damage, then for archers it should be a little higher since they have a lot of accuracy.
Ok now I am done with my thoughts about this current cap damage system and issues it can bring. Also done to suggest some stuffs to balance classes and to bring RPG aspect. I also want decent skills from potential system being deleted!! Because it really doesnt help. We have classes with these buffs x.x

Your thought about the current cap damage guys? And about class rebalance? Any suggestions to fix these issues? Should Nexon be more stricted with people who break ToS? What do you think about stats in general, including all damage system?

EDIT:Certain classes have way too many lines, especially Wild Hunter with 3 lines of Hurricane, so we might consider of lowering number of lines to make it more fair.
Final EDIT: If we can reduce pay2win aspect and promoting RPG aspect even more, we can greatly reduce the amount of illegal transactions.
At same time, about putting CS items into FM shop like KMS does, it will promote damage addiction aspect by a lot in my opinion. So we can suggest to considerably increase drop rate of cubic blades and cubes should be instanced drop, still untradeable XD AND from bosses only, NOT elite boss. If they want, they can still put cosmetic items in FM shop.
