Maplestory2:Question about weapon Ignore enemy defense and damage to boss

Hi guys, basically I am totally new to the game and I have no idea about the stt. I mean evetything. But I think I will ask the question about my weapon first.

So I got my weapon just yesterday, which has 30% damage to boss and potential 30% ignore of the enemy defense. Before, my ATT stas is around 40k-44k because I do not fund my character at all. Does that mean before I am super weak? And NOW with that weapon contains boss damage and ignore defense, will I be better than before?

And I also have a question about Zero weapon, can the weapon be converted to soul weapon? I plan to make a Zero before it closes again.

Thank everyone for your attention and reply. I need to play more to know the game better thou.

Neither Boss Damage nor Ignore Def raise your ATT stat, because their effect depends on which monster you are attacking.

Enemy defense (Physical/Magical Defense Rate, abbreviate PDR and MDR) is how much of the damage you deal they deflect.

For example, if on a normal monster with no defense you hit 100,000 per line, then on a boss with 40% PDR (like Zakum) you would only be hitting 60,000 per line.

Ignore Enemy Defense lets you break down some of that defense. So, if your weapon has 30% Ignore Def, you overcome 30% of Zakum's 40% PDR, which is 12%. So instead of 60,000 per line you'll hit 72,000 per line.

The higher an enemy's PDR, the more important Ignore Def becomes.

Boss damage is very simply additional damage done to monsters defined (by the game) as bosses. So if we again assume that on normal monsters you hit 100,000 per line, then on a theoretical boss with no defense you'll be hitting 130,000 per line.

If we look again at Zakum, we see that if you had neither Ignore Def nor Boss Damage you'd be hitting only 60,000 per line on him. But with both of them together, you will hit 93,600 per line. That's quite a lot more.
